All Rockland classes will be held in a big ground floor room at the Lincoln Street Center on Lincoln St, just a few blocks back from Main St. You can walk from the Studio to everything in town.. There is plenty of off street parking at the Center and the Studio space is just inside the doors on the driveway end of the building; easy load/unload and no stairs!!. If you won’t have a car, we can help you get your gear, and yourself from where you are staying to the Studio and to painting sites…just let me know so I can plan!! You are welcome to leave your equipment and supplies in the Studio when we are not there……plan to be in the Studio by 8:30 AM on the first day to get settled at your table; the room will be open by 8 AM!
Re: bringing your dog: Lincoln Street Center has asked us not to have dogs in the class…if this means you cannot come to a class, contact me; there may be exceptions. Trade Winds, Craignair Inn and Old Granite Inn allow pets, as do a few other places in the area including the RiverHouse Hotel in Camden, 20 minutes away..…. There are several local people who offer daily pet care services as well, and Harbor Hounds in Rockland, provides doggy day-care and other services. www.harborhoundsmaine.com.
Rockland Harbor Hotel. At the North end of Main St in Rockland, this completely renovated hotel sits opposite the ferry landing and has water views from most of its well-appointed rooms. It offers an array of amenities and services including: free hot breakfast starting at 6:30 AM and free WIFI, fitness center, in-room coffee maker, patio fire pit, on-site market, and more — it is a 5 min. walk to downtown with all the galleries, shops and restaurants… and it is only 2 ½ blocks from the Studio! If you knew it as the Navigator, you will be amazed at the transformation the new owners have accomplished!! Click here to check out the photos on their website.

Just past the end of Main St in Rockland and across from the Maine State Ferry Landing, this 1840’s Federal Colonial is now a green-certified, pet friendly B&B. Built of locally quarried granite and looking out to sea across the busy harbor, the Inn offers a delicious, hearty breakfast (ask about eating earlier if need be) and eight distinctively decorated (one of the innkeepers is a graphic artist!) and comfortable rooms. Re: bringing your pet to class: Well behaved, non barkers and with permission only! I will want to make sure it is not a problem for anyone else in the class…sometimes people are allergic or dog phobic. FYI: It may also not be possible to find shaded parking for the duration of a class day…I don’t have current info on pet-friendly accommodations in the Belfast area…you’ll have to ask…sorry!
