Wait List Only! Watercolor A to Z! Sterling Edwards TWSA,

An artist of considerable versatility, Sterling’s range of style ranges from sensitive realism to lively abstraction; his variety of techniques work with all water mediums!

Although this Studio-based class is for all skill levels, having some previous watercolor and drawing experience will help you gain the most from this workshop. Sterling will talk about and demo a wide variety of watercolor techniques  including positive and negative painting, composition, using creative colors, glazing, charging color, and many more.  His preferred method of painting is to use large brushes for most of the painting, then complete the painting with a small amount of detail towards the end using smaller brushes. The end result is a watercolor painting that is loose and fresh with expressive brushwork and strong design. He’ll begin each day with a demo, finishing before lunch. The demonstrations will be different each day so that you can see the many styles and techniques he uses for his wide variety of subject matter.  Following lunch, you’ll have the afternoon to work on your own painting with assistance from Sterling when needed. You’re welcome to paint whatever you’d like; he’ll be around to help!

One of Sterling’s objective’s as an instructor is to go beyond merely teaching watercolor technique, encouraging you to be creative with design and color in your paintings. He will help you incorporate new skills, firmly believing   that it is what you actually do with these many techniques that will ultimately distinguish you as a true artist.

This will be a a laid back and sometimes humorous workshop where everyone can feel comfortable to ask questions or request assistance with their painting. Sterling will be on hand to offer one-on-one help in the afternoons for those who need additional help…just ask! His workshops are designed to be fun, very educational, and inspiring.
